Model for Metis's 'Great Egyptian Museum' project, constructed between July 2014 and October 2014, first exhibited in Aarhus, Denmark, October 2014.

The proposed galleries and archives of the museum would be curated into five 'vessels', grouping the collection into themes. Each vessel had a unique and complex geometry, but was to be understood as part of a common set, closely linked by their materiality.  A dark and very dense tropical hardwood was chosen to impart a heavy, monolithic feeling, with intricately embellished surfaces. The vessels were to be raised above the ground and connected to a landscape of folded planes. They would also be interlinked by a series of bridges allowing visitors to create their own distinct itinerary.
